EGAN COMPANY ELECTS SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT

MINNEAPOLIS, MN (July 1, 2020) – Egan Company, a Brooklyn Park specialty contractor and systems integrator, announced the promotion of Mike Tengwall to Senior Vice President and Electrical Group Leader. In this senior leadership role, Tengwall is responsible for overseeing business operations and strategy for Egan’s business unit that provides complete electrical services and process controls which includes engineering, a U.L. 508A panel shop and IntelliBatch, Egan’s concrete batching product.

“Mike’s experience in the electrical industry and proven leadership provides an opportunity for our Twin Cities electrical teams to work more closely together,” said Duane Hendricks, Egan Company President & CEO. “I’m excited for Mike to expand our services and continue offering a great experience to our customers.”

Tengwall has over 30 years of experience in the electrical industry, with 13 of those being at Egan. Throughout his career, he has held many roles including: Electronic Technician, Electrician, Master Electrician, Project Coordinator, Electrical Specialist, Project Manager, Group Manager, and Business Leader. His experience includes working with various building owner customers including Michael Foods, Andersen Corporation, Ford Motor Company, as well as numerous General Contractors. He graduated from Brown College with a degree in Electronics Technology.

The Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal highlighted Tengwall’s promotion in its People on the Move feature.

Tengwall has over 20 years of experience in the electrical industry, with 10 of those being at Egan. Throughout his career, he has held many roles including: Electrician, Project Coordinator, Electrical Specialist, Project Manager, and Group Manager. His experience spans various industrial manufacturing facilities including Gerdau Ameristeel, Andersen Corporation, Ford Motor Company, and numerous dairy/food and beverage facilities. He graduated from Brown College with a degree in Electronics Technology.

Egan acquires KF Controls

MINNEAPOLIS, MN (December 6, 2011) – The Egan Company Board of Directors announced today that KF Controls of Coon Rapids, has become part of the Egan family.

After serving the automation needs of concrete products producers and original equipment manufacturers for 28 years, KF has closed their shop and moved all employees, equipment and expertise into Egan’s main facility in Brooklyn Park, according to Egan CEO, Jim Malecha.

KF Controls partners, Phi Kramlinger, Eli Martin, and Tim Blair will all retain significant positions within Egan’s Industrial Controls Group. This is the third acquisition for Egan this year.

“With these acquisitions we’ve added more than 200 hard working employees both in our offices and in the field,” said Malecha. According to the CEO, the company is now back to pre-recession employment numbers with work in progress about two and a half times what it was at the start of the year.

Enjoying a history dating back to 1945, Egan is one of the largest specialty contractors in the United States. The company offers mechanical, electrical, systems and curtainwall/glass construction and services employing approximately 700 people, seasonally adjusted, and representing 18 trade unions in Minnesota.
