The annual “Best of Promises Kept” awards recognize individuals and teams who exemplify the company’s values and consistently go above and beyond for customers. This year, James Ford, Egan Company President & CEO, along with senior leaders, presented the awards to the recipients.

INDIVIDUAL AWARD
“I want to offer kudos to the Egan team for completing the installation of the emergency generator at our facility. Steve Ohmann was a pleasure to have on-site – he completed work with minimal disruption, stayed organized, clearly communicated with us, and was even willing to give us a hand with a couple other small tasks onsite. Celebrating a Legacy of Commitment: 20 Years of Promises Kept

For over 20 years, Egan Company has celebrated the people who make its promises a reality. As the company marks its 80th anniversary, it is also honoring two decades of one of its most valued traditions: the Promises Kept Program.

Introduced in 2005 under the leadership of then-CEO Craig Sulentic, the Promises Kept Program was designed to recognize and thank Egan employees for their commitment to customers and the company’s foundation of Building on Promises Kept. What began as a forward-thinking recognition program has become a proud part of Egan’s culture—reflecting the organization’s deep appreciation for employees whose loyalty and excellence in service inspire customers to share how exceptional their experiences have been through testimonials.


The Promises Kept Program honors employees by recognizing the hard work and dedication they’ve shown to customers with a certificate and gift. In the 20 years since it was introduced, the program has celebrated hundreds of team members across trades, roles, and teams, reinforcing Egan’s long-standing commitment to its employees.

“During visits with our customers, we often hear that Egan’s talented employees are the reason our customers work with us year after year,” said James Ford, Egan Company President & CEO. “It’s consistently recognized that our people are hardworking, responsive, and the best problem solvers in the industry. Celebrating the Egan team and how they take care of customers is at the heart of our Promises Kept Program.”  


At the close of each year, one individual and one team are honored with the Best of the Best Promises Kept Award. With many inspiring submissions, choosing the testimonials that best reflect Egan’s core values and culture is a challenge. They highlight Egan’s commitment to redefining the industry by setting a new standard in customer care and recognize the employees whose dedication makes it possible.


This 20-year milestone comes at a time when Egan is also reflecting on 80 years of business, customer care, innovation, and integrity. Together, these anniversaries shine a light on the company’s foundational values and the people who have carried them forward. Annual “Best Of” Promises Kept Awards

Exceptional customer service means going above and beyond what a customer expects. At Egan, an important piece of our culture is annually recognizing our employees who exemplify this level of outstanding work and service.   

Many times throughout the year, stories are sent to us from customers. Long narratives or short commendation, each story is shared with our Board of Directors who recognize the team or the employee with a gift for keeping their promises.

At the close of each year, two of these special stories are chosen for a Promises Kept Award. This “best of” award recognizes those who have truly gone above and beyond in service to our customers. The winners are usually announced, presented, and celebrated at our annual Employee Christmas Party. Like many things this year, we had to get creative when presenting these awards without the formality of an all-company gathering. In 2020-style, the recognized Egan employees came together in a virtual party to receive their awards for continuing to keep their promises to our customers.

Bryce Gransee went above and beyond the call of the job last week when responding to a serious incident. While on the jobsite, Bryce witnessed a worker from another contractor become pinned between some steel and a concrete wall. Bryce and other workers jumped in immediately to provide assistance. When I spoke with Bryce and thanked him, his response was “I just hope someone would do the same for me.” On behalf of Kraus-Anderson and myself, we’d like to say we greatly appreciate Bryce’s ability and willingness to help!

We would like to thank the entire Egan team for the leadership, planning, scheduling, and overall safe execution of the 5400 turnaround and switchgear cleaning. This was the largest turnaround event that has been executed and it wouldn’t have been successful without Egan. Everyone was extremely professional and kept safety and quality as the top priorities. Egan had over 75 employees on site, many being brand new to the facility, and all were receptive to the safety culture. The LVSG cleaning and inspection was completed safely and with the utmost quality. Lastly, the process panel was worked on around the clock to ensure timely execution. The work ethic and quality both crews displayed were above anyone’s expectations. Excellent performance from the Egan team- thank you for your professionalism and support for our 2020 turnaround!

Promises Kept Award Recognizes Exceptional Customer Service

Exceptional customer service means going above and beyond what the customer expects. It requires making the extra effort, going the extra mile, or possibly punching the clock after hours.

At Egan, our goal is always to provide customers with an exceptional experience. It’s our promise. And, as a way to honor our employees who go above and beyond this outstanding customer service feat is our Promises Kept Award. This award is presented each year at our annual Employee Christmas Party.

This year’s team award recipients include five employees who worked on the Super Bowl Experience project at the Minneapolis Convention Center. Congratulations, Peter Johnson, Matt Larson, Rob Moretto, Pat Sullivan, and Eli Tennison.

The individual award recipient went to Deric Graff for his work at a Takeda Pharmaceuticals project. Congratulations!

When challenges arose, they had solutions. Tasks were often completed as fast as the call went in for them. Spirits were always high which was appreciated after many long days. Deric Graff has provided invaluable contributions to the recently completed Facility Restart Project, known as Project Optima. He has also contributed in other capacities including original facility construction, site maintenance, and operational readiness.

Deric’s superior skill, knowledge, judgment, and understanding as well as his unwavering dedication to identify, explain, build, test, and document the best possible solutions, is significantly responsible for bringing our facility to the budgetarily sound and timely state of completion we find it in today.
