  • Located at the core of the St. Paul Business District, the seven-story Warren E. Burger Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse is home to the U.S. District, Appeals, Magistrate, and Bankruptcy courts, as well as the U.S. Marshals Service, Attorneys, and Veterans Administration.
  • Over the past decade, the Warren E. Burger Federal Building has received building automation and mechanical system upgrades from Egan Company.
  • The building automation system was completely furnished by Egan, with all IB controllers residing on GSA's highly secure network. It requires extensive collaboration and testing of all proposed network-level devices.
  • The building was one of the first GSA buildings to belong to the "Fast 50" program - a program targeting 50 of the organization's largest facilities to leverage an analytics pilot program (developed by GSA and IBM). Egan mapped over 3,000 points to the analytics system to provide continuous monitoring/commissioning of all mechanical systems, with the BAS acting as a data server.
  • Recently, a more efficient and energy-saving mechanical system was installed that included larger pumps and new piping, prefabricated in Egan's pipe shop. Four new isolation pump shut-off valves were also installed to provide fewer interruptions to HVAC service when future maintenance is required.
