SPECIALTIES FEATURED WITH THIS PROJECT:

Mechanical

  • The University of Minnesota - Moos Tower project was completed by Egan’s mechanical team and included the installation of a 1,000 ton cooling absorption chiller. This new chiller supplies the water demand for an addition to the hospital on campus.
  • Egan's mechanical scope also included the relocation of an existing chiller and a redesign of existing piping system prior to setting the new chiller into place.
  • Tower water and chilled water cross-connection lines were installed, as well as three (3) new chilled water pumps and seven (7) new tie-ins to chilled water and tower water mains.
  • Heavy rigging and tight clearance space made this project a challenge. Over 700’ of new piping between 12” and 16” was installed by the Egan team.
  • The team successfully managed to rig the chiller in four (4) separate sections from the ground level sidewalk and position it for final assembly within the basement mechanical room of the building.
