SPECIALTIES FEATURED WITH THIS PROJECT:

Electrical // Building Technology Integration

  • Opening in 1956, Southdale Center is one of the oldest fully-enclosed malls, and is the first climate-controlled one in the country.
  • At Southdale Center, one of the nation's first enclosed shopping malls, Egan was responsible for the demolition and installation of new electrical service along with vibrant and dramatic new light fixtures in all public areas, a new corridor and the new, greatly expanded food court.
  • This project was completed on time on a fast track basis with no disruption to day-to-day operations for the retailers.
  • Egan's involvement included installing 200 new floor boxes, new 3000 amp service to upgrade what was already there, 50 DA programmable color-changing LED light fixtures (including some in the clear story sky light areas), dozens of "cloud light" fixtures, and three massive 12- foot diameter ceiling light fixtures.
  • Egan technology team also installed fire alarm and voice/data installation on site.
