  • The south service area water treatment plant provides nearly five million gallons of water daily to the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community (SMSC) and the City of Prior Lake.
  • This new construction plant is made up of water treatment via filters and reverse osmosis skids, chemicals systems for cleaning and treatment, and pumps to move the water through the treatment system and to the water towers. In addition, the facility includes emergency generation, an office, and a small lab.
  • Acting in a Design/Assist role, Egan's team was utilized for the electrical scope and the building automation controls for the HVAC system.
  • Specific components within the plant include four filters, a filter pipe gallery, four reverse osmosis (RO) skids, a pump room, aeration system, chemical treatment, reclaim tanks, detention tanks, and a clear well tank. The plant can add two filters and an RO skid to cover future water needs.
  • The facility includes one well, a water lift station, and is connected to the network via fiber.
