- Second Harvest Heartland is one of the nation’s largest food banks. After spending 30 years operating in Maplewood, the nonprofit organization recently moved its headquarters to Brooklyn Park, Minn.
- The newly reconstructed space includes more capacity for volunteers, fresh food storage, distribution, as well as corporate offices.
- Egan’s mechanical team was tasked with two phases on this reconstruction project. The scope of work included all HVAC throughout the 150,000 square foot space.
- Equipment installed included:
-Two (2) Energy Recovery units that feed tempered outside air to the Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) System
-Two (2) Makeup Air units for pressure control within the warehouse
-A rooftop unit for the food packing space within the new volunteer area
-Outside air, return air, exhaust air, and supply air systems for the VRF fan coils
-Five (5) high-volume, low-speed ceiling fans
-Five (5) unit heaters with electric coils - Egan pipefitters installed gas piping to all gas-fired makeup units, rooftop units, and energy recovery systems.
