SPECIALTIES FEATURED WITH THIS PROJECT:
Electrical Construction
- A confidential manufacturing facility was constructed and remodeled in a shortened 11-month period of time. To do so in a timely manner, Egan’s team ran two shifts for the duration of the project. The project had three separate phases, with the potential for up to $225,000.00/day of liquidated damages.
- Egan’s Electrical Construction team collaborated with multiple contractors to complete the project three weeks ahead of schedule.
- The buildout consisted of a warehouse, secure laboratory, server room, a mechanical boiler house, and office space.
- The electrical scope included three 4000 amp services, transfer switches, and two-megawatt generators. Egan also provided line voltage wiring, conduit rough-in, and conduit for all of the low voltage and BAS equipment.
- With the shortened project duration, procurement of new generators, transfer switches, and electrical services was difficult. Egan navigated this by securing used low-hour generators that were decommissioned and approved to be installed as permanent units.
- Used 3000-4000 amp ATS units were temporarily installed until new units were available, and three refurbished switchboards and a distribution panel were approved to be placed as permanent units.
- Thanks to the successful collaboration and creative problem-solving among the contractors, Ron Oelrich, Egan Company Business Development and Preconstruction Manager, was invited to speak on a panel at the Advancing MEP Management Summit in Dallas, Texas alongside the project team.
