Building Technology Integration
- With construction of two new data centers, Accenture, a multi-national management consulting services company, called on Egan to install the cabling infrastructure. Egan's Technology Systems team provided cabling for new data centers in Woodbury and Chaska, Minn.
- The services included cable runway installation, MTP OM3 fiber and cassettes solutions, and installation of racking hardware.
- CAT6 copper cable and jacks were purchased in bulk, and fabricated to make up the required cable bundles and lengths. To provide seamless and quick installation under a tight project schedule, one end of the bundles was terminated, bundles were sorted and labeled by associated data rack, and shipped to the jobsite.
- The decision to prefabricate the bundles saved two weeks worth of work, and provided added cost savings. The customer was able to get servers up and running ahead of schedule.
