- A growing Minnesota school district increased its safety for students and staff by utilizing Egan Company to upgrade its security lockdown system.
- The system includes two “panic” buttons which are housed in each of the school's main offices. One button silently releases all fire doors throughout the building allowing egress outside but prevents further advancing into the school. The other button automatically locks all electronically controlled access doors.
- When either are pressed, a distressed signal is initiated to police and an alarm message sounds over the intercom system throughout the building.
- Outside of the lockdown security upgrade, the school district is a regular customer of Egan’s for building automation and fire alarm system monitoring. Egan also does routine fire alarm inspections and service to the building.
